Specializing in Adult Programs
Auditory Training Services provides the Tomatis Method of Auditory Training to individuals
Because of the ear’s rich interconnections with the brain, body, and voice, auditory training has multiple applications and wide-ranging benefits. Whether used to correct problems or enhance abilities, the Tomatis Method of Auditory Training offers an innovative approach to developing one’s potential at any age. The Listening Program: Following an in-depth initial evaluation, listening programs are individually designed. While the length of the program may vary according to individual needs, a typical adult program consists of 31 two-hour listening sessions administered in three intensives of 15 days, 8 days, 8 days, with a three to five-week break between intensives. Program fees include additional listening tests and consultations scheduled at regular intervals throughout the program, as well comprehensive post-testing. The listening program is administered in a quiet setting designed for comfort, relaxation, and optimal listening enjoyment. At Auditory Training Services all evaluations, consultations, testing, and treatment sessions are personally administered by Patricia Dixon, Ph.D., Certified Tomatis Consultant. Dr. Dixon is among a select group of U.S. Tomatis Consultants trained in Paris by Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis. She has been administering the Tomatis Method of Auditory Training to adult clients for over a decade. She is also a Certified MBTI (Myers-Briggs Personality Typing) Practitioner, and Certified MARI (Mandala Assessment) Practitioner. These services are included in the listening program. Dr. Dixon has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy, and is author of a book on Jungian psychology—Nietzsche and Jung: Sailing a Deeper Night (Peter Lang, 1999).
