An Integrative Approach to Therapy 

Project CHILLD was founded in 2001 as a collaboration between two pediatric occupational therapists, each with over 25 years of experience in the field. Their dream was to open a clinic that augmented more traditional occupational therapy services with alternative methods of treatment.

After discovering the power and effectiveness of the Tomatis sound training program on children with various disabilities, the founders jumped at the opportunity to study directly under two Tomatis-trained experts in this field, Dr. Billie Thompson of Sound Listening and Learning Center, and later, Dr. Ron Minson of the Center for Inner Change.

Today Project CHILLD is staffed with 14 Occupational Therapists and 3 Speech Pathologists who offer Sound Training in our state-of-the-art facility.  We assess and develop individualized programs for people with neurological and developmental disabilities including:

The DLS Program is a Tomatis-based sound training program impacting the human ear, to acquire, develop, refine and integrate one’s listening function. The Dynamic Listening System facilitates improved:

Ø  Attention and Concentration

Ø  Organization

Ø  Socialization

We are authorized providers of The Listening Program (TLP) and are Dynamic Listening System (DLS) Consultants.  We are also certified in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT).  Consultation services are also available for home and school programs, including school Inclusion programs. 

About the Director, Kathy Carley, MSOTR/L:
Kathy is an Occupational Therapist who has specialized in pediatric practice treating clients with neurological disorders, learning disabilities, and autism for over 25 years.  In 1978 she received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She relocated to Massachusetts and began working in the public schools.  Kathy was hired to develop the occupational therapy program in the Wakefield Public Schools and then as Coordinator of Occupational Therapy for Harbor Area Rehabilitation Therapies.  She received a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Sargent College, Boston University in 1989.  Her pediatric occupational therapy experience includes working in the school systems; early intervention, private clinics, hospitals and community based programs.  She worked as clinical director for Occupational Therapy Associates, as Program Director and Administrator of Giant Steps, a private school for children with Autism and has been in private practice for seven years. 

Project CHILLD is located north of Boston, easily accessible from the main highway.
